Rooms and Bear Huts
Highland Bear Lodge & Luxury Bear Huts offers rooms in traditional Scottish style and two Luxury Bear Huts. The Bonnie Prince Charlie Suite features a four-poster bed, antique furniture, and loch views, plus a hot tub available at an additional charge of £20 per day. The Highland Room offers a king-size or twin setup with a stag and tartan theme and garden views. Each bear hut includes a king-size bed, a small kitchen area, a fridge, an en suite, WiFi, a Freeview TV, and a heater.
Breakfast and Food Tours
Highland Bear Lodge provides a continental breakfast served in the rooms. It includes croissants, cheese, meats, salmon, jam, honey, butter, and yogurt. Dairy items and orange juice are kept in the in-room fridge, with other items in a takeaway bag. Plates, knives, and napkins are provided. Mark, the host, offers a beer tour combining scenery with local beers and food, visiting organic breweries and Crofters Bistro in Rosemarkie.
Activities and Nature
Guests can relax in the guest lounge with log fires and sofas. Activities include kayaking and scuba diving. Mark is a paragliding and ski instructor who can assist with activities in the area. The lodge is set in 14 acres of woodland, where stags, red deer, red squirrels, foxes, badgers, birds of prey, and owls can be seen. The bear huts face Glen Urquhart forest, near Bear Creek waterfalls.
Location and Access
Highland Bear Lodge & Luxury Bear Huts is 50 km from Inverness. Landmarks include Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, Culloden, and the Clava Cairns. Glen Affric is 20 minutes away, and the Isle of Skye is one and a half hours away. To reach the lodge from Drumnadrochit, take the A831 road to Cannich. After passing through Balnain, look for the Upperton (Highland Bear Lodge) brown sign.
